Due to the increase in Covid cases here in Maine and throughout the country, as well as the possibility of increased cases due to holiday travel, the Long Island Community Library will be returning to curbside service only for at least the remainder of 2020.
Library patrons can go to the Library catalog on the Library website, (library.long-island.lib.me.us ) or access the website through the Town of Long Island site to find out what books we have and if they are available.
There will be a google form on the site to fill out with the material you are requesting. You can access the form directly using the link below or on the Town of Long Island Website:
You may also call the Library (207-766-2530) on Saturday mornings between 9:30 and 10:30 to request books. There are many new books at the Library and Library staff will be happy to help you find a new or any other book you would like to read. Library staff will have your orders ready for pick up from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. If you are unable to pick your books up at that time we will leave them in the book drop for you. All material leaving the Library will have been quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours. We are requesting that patrons leave all returning books and DVDs in the book drop.
Please return books as soon as possible as they will need to be in
quarantine for 72 hours before they can be re-shelved and available for other patrons.
We are all disappointed that the Library cannot be open for patrons at this time and are looking forward to the time that we can return to our regular operating schedule. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.
